Q: Does the handedness refer to the hand you hold the bow with, or the hand you shoot with? Asked on 11/1/2012 by The Badger from New Hampshire Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The dexterity of a bow is determined by the hand the pulls the string. Answered on 11/1/2012 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
Q: Does this bow come with a string and if so what is the string made of? I am familiar with the B-50 string material, will that work with this bow? Thanks, BREEZY46 Asked on 3/7/2012 by BREEZY46 from SACRAMENTO, CA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: No string is included with the Bamboo-Backed Hickory Longbow Blank. A B-50 string would be best for this bow when it is done being built. Answered on 3/8/2012 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery
Q: DOES IT COME WITH HOW TO INSTRUCTIONS? Asked on 2/7/2012 by rob from guelph ontario canada Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer Q: what is the shortest long or recurve that is in the 60 to 70 pound range that i could get. Asked on 12/23/2011 by Anonymous from poland, IN Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer Q: I am 6ft6inches tall. What size longbow is best for me.? Weight -- 230 lbs. Asked on 11/10/2011 by Anonymous from Montana, USA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: By your height, you should have a long draw length. The longer the draw length the longer the bow will need to be. If you get one of these blanks I would recommend that you make the bow as long as possible. Answered on 11/11/2011 by Justin from 3Rivers Archery
Q: What length string do i need for this bow? Asked on 2/2/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Since it says approx 68" - 72" it is going to vary on the blank you get. Once you receive the blank you need to measure it from tip to tip, then take that measurement and subtract 3 inches. This is the length of string you will need. Answered on 2/3/2011 by Anonymous
Q: bamboo is a great choice for backing as it is tension strong. is it a good choice for backing hickory though, which is not a compression strong wood? especially with a r/d design. is this design prone to failure? Asked on 12/21/2010 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: We have not had too many problems with this bow. The Bamboo keeps it together through the stress and the Hickory is left wide enough to not have any problems. Answered on 12/30/2010 by Johnathan Karch from 3Rivers Archery
Q: could i use a take down kit on this bow Asked on 10/4/2010 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer Q: Am done tillering and slowly getting my bow down to my target weight. Right now its 58 lbs at 29"...while checking the weight the last time, the bamboo back cracked on the upper limb midway in the limb area in the center of the limb. A piece of bamboo about 1/4 inch wide and extremely thin pulled off the bow...it is still attached on the upper end. Is this fixable? Is a result of a fault in the bamboo or was the tiller incorrect? It appeared to me that I had the correct tiller.... Asked on 9/19/2010 by Greg from Virginia Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer Q: could you cut and make a two piece? Asked on 9/10/2010 by Anonymous from Alaska Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: You can make the Bamboo-backed bow into a 2-piece bow, but I would only recommend it if you have made a few different takedown bows before. It wouldn't be the easiest for a beginner with his bow. It can depend on what takedown system you are using, but it would be possible to make it a takedown.
