I just got this bow in the mail a few days ago. First of all you have to see it to appriciate its beauty. Absolutely perfect craftsmanship. It shoots great, has a very smooth pull and absolutely no hand shock. I set the brace hight at 7 inches for starters (I measure from the deepest part of the handle) and shot a three inch group from 15 yards. With some string silencers this bow would make absolutely no sound at all. The only thing I didn't like is the that the self adheisive for the strike plate didn't work too well. I found my strike plate downrange 5 yards after my 10th or so shot. A minor setback though because I was planning to replace it anyway. Overall an amazing bow and you just cannot beat the price. The Barta Bow is hands down the ultimate longbow. I love mine. I don't regret a thing. It's powerful, looks good, and shoots even better. It is very tough because my buddy dropped mine on the concrete and it's still going strong. I was skeptical at first for paying for a bow I've never even touched, but it was worth every penny! I strongly suggest it.

I've had this bow for less than one month. I have shot 7,200 arrows (by my best count) and it looks and shoots like it did the day I took it out of the box. It's accurate and quiet and does not stack at all. I can't imagine what else someone would want in a bow or why anyone would pay more. Durable is an understatement. Try shooting 7200 arrows through the fastest wheel bow and see what happens to it.

I think maybe I ended up with Alamosa Colorado's bow that he sent back---at this point couldn't be happier with the bow or the service at 3-Rivers..delivery time was essentially blink your eye and its here! I shoot compound, recurve, and now longbow....being so new in archery I can't comment on what is good or bad but I have already figured out what to me is incredible about the longbow--the weight! If I turn to hunting why carry something that weighs 3 or more pounds when you can carry something weighs 12-14 ounces?

Fatastic bow at an unbelievable price. I was looking into buying a recurve bow when your technical team suggested a longbow. I WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED !!! I am truly addicted to traditional now!! I have been a compound hunter for 25+ years now and WILL NOT GO BACK! After having the bow for several months now and shooting it daily, sometimes twice daily, I have come into my own with the bow. The manufacturing quality is flawless! The handle is sculpted just right for my hand so than I can still shoot with my hand as flat as possible....just like pointing your finger! I tuly love this bow! If it gets better than this then it should be outlawed!!!

I took delivery of a 50 lb. Barta Bow a few weeks ago. It is exactly as advertised: stable, forgiving, smooth drawing. The bow is not flashy but has an understated beauty. The fit and finish are excellent; no tools marks or finish flaws. High quality materials and workmanship are apparent as expected from Martin Archery. The grip design allows the bow to point naturally and consistently where I look. In short order my shots were on target and consistent. The bow shoots with a muffled “thud” to the ears and no discernible shock to the hand. There is nothing whatsoever harsh about the Barta Bow. Add a set of string silencers and it’s ready to hunt. I braced the bow at 7⅛”, which seems to be the sweet spot. I am experimenting with arrows, but 30” ash shafts of 45-50 lb. spine fly very well. I prefer slightly underspined arrows in a longbow and feel safe saying any arrow in the 45-50 lb. range will work. Altogether I am completely satisfied with my Barta Bow. It is a simple, functional, elegant tool that I shoot well. Thanks to 3 Rivers Archery, Tred Barta, and Martin Archery for a great product.

I just wanted say say that after my original review, 3Rivers Archery quickly allowed me to return my Barta Bow, and I was pleasantly suprised by how fast they returned a 70# Barta bow. Since then, I have been shooting my bow all the time. I have gotten used to the bow, and it is a rabbit killing machine! Can't wait to hunt big game with it. I have nothing but good things to say about the Barta bow, and 3Rivers Archery. Thanks again 3RA!

I am happy with how the bow shoots. Most of the things that the Barta bow advertised as, well it it. Very durable, accurate, and with time I will become more accurate a shot with this bow. The one dissapointment I have is that the bow says 70# on the side, right next to Tred Barta's name... and well it is not seventy pounds at all. I had it weighed, and it read 66# an two seperate scales. I know that this may seem a bit nit picky to some, but I ordered a 70# bow, and plan on using this bow as my hunting bow. Anyhow, this is the only negative thing I can say about this otherwise fine bow.

The "Barta Bow" is a great all-around bow. The first time I practiced with it I was hitting the mark. Its a little hard to draw at 70# but thats my fault for ordering more than I could handle, but its becoming easier with practice. I cant wait to take in to the field.

Its a very nice bow I use it for Alaskin game like Elk, Deer, and Moose, but pretty hard to bring down a Moose down with it since they're huge.

It's a no frills bow the string that came with the bow was cheap and poorly made never did use it shelf rest and striker plate didn't last a month replaced with seal skin third string I used df97 14 strand its starting to come togather but you can start with some custom bow at this price I would really shop around before I bought this bow
