Tred says it best: "I'm Tred Barta and I do things the hard way, my way. My equipment has to be tough enough to handle all that the wilderness dishes out in the real world of bowhunting. I have to get close, I have to make fast shots, and my arrows are designed to give me the best performance in the worst of conditions. That's why I make 'em plain, but functional. Each shaft is Port Orford cedar, the best arrow wood anywhere, hand spined so they fly consistently, fletched with high back shield feathers to give me the best arrow flight possible in rain, snow or mud, walnut stained for the camo effect, and plain to keep the cost down. My arrows are designed to get the job done. No frills, no fancy cresting, just hard-hitting wood arrows that have what it takes for hunting the hard way, the Barta way. Try my "Barta Wilderness Arrows" today and see for yourself. You can pay more, but I doubt you'll get a better arrow." A 3Rivers Archery Exclusive! Tred Barta Wilderness Arrows:
  • Available in sizes to fit nearly all hunting bows.

Comments about Tred Barta Wilderness Arrows dz:

I've used these arrows for about a year now, and I'm definite quite fond of them. They hold up pretty well, even being submitted to the occasion hit to plywood or even the concrete wall at the range. They are cedar, so they're not indestructible by any means. I've broken about half in the year, but all things considered, it's not too bad, especially considering I'm rather hard on my arrows. They all arrived nice and straight, and were very well fletched. All in all, definitely a good buy.

These are very nice! Out of the box they flew well. They look awesome I mounted one on the wall as part of a ongoing arrow art collection ive been making. Ill use these to practice and hunt with, but have to wait till this fall to let you know how well they hunt. On target the penetration is nice as well.

Comments about Tred Barta Wilderness Arrows dz:

This is by far the best arrow for a traditional bow. I have been shooting these arrows for about a year and a half now. I started with the traditional bow around 2 years ago and switched between carbon and aluminum arrows and was very dissatisfied with the extreme hand shock. I bought a dozen of these arrows and i was thoroughly impressed. Minimal to no hand shock depending on your bow and the weight. Im on my third set of Barta arrows and will continue to use them because there is nothing better.

I really like the craftsmanship and the "plainness" of these arrows. I had to hand straighten 4 of them which wasnt a problem at all. The weight is very consistant and the fly really nice. Very easy for me to see downrange in my target. Gonna order another dozen to hunt with.

Comments about Tred Barta Wilderness Arrows dz:

My wife and I own and operate our own guide service for Osceola Turkeys and wild hogs so I've slung a few arrows in my time. These arrows are tough and accurate. They get the thumbs up in central Florida swamps chasing big hogs with Zwickey heads. I believe they would easily put down anything on four legs in the US with the right heads and a little practice.

Comments about Tred Barta Wilderness Arrows dz:

I do many shoots in the pacific northwest and am very respected and my 8 year old son has made better arrows than these, right when i pulled them out of the box most of the tips were crooked, some i pulled off with my fingers, they were crooked to the point where i could see the bend from 20 yards away, half of them broke, not from stump shooting but from ricishe's, the fletches flew off on the first shot with less than half of the dozen and my final rant; the knocks stuck to the string upon release and left the arrow. all around horrible arrow, maybe it was just an error or maybe it was bad manufacturing, but i did not fiddle with them at all before i shot them but TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT!

My wife and I run a guide service In Florida and do alot of archery hunts for hogs, deer and turkey. I have hunted traditionally for several years and recently bought the Barta Arrows and tipped them with Zwickey heads. The best "Wood" I have ever fired from my Herter's Bow and they hit a ton! They penetrate as deep as most 50-60lb compound rigs my clients use at twenty yards with very consistent groups. Great Product and have no doubts about thier performance on an upcoming hog hunt! Can't wait to show 'em the wood!

Comments about Tred Barta Wilderness Arrows dz:

I have not shot these arrows a lot, but they have performed well when I have. I shoot a 50# Savannah and ordered the 60-65# arrows. I shoot them with 145 grain field points and 160 grain broad heads. no fishtailing or porpoising. The feathers are large and stabilize the arrows well. I have not tried them stump shooting yet but from target shooting think they would perform as well for stumps.

    Service & Delivery comments:

I experienced great service as I have on previous orders.

Comments about Tred Barta Wilderness Arrows dz:

These arrows shoot extremely well and are the easy way to start shooting more traditionally with wooden arrows. The white feathers make tracking the arrow in flight easier, and subsequently improve instinctive shooting over the long run. With Tred Barta's name on them I expected them to be really noisy, but unlike Tred, they are nice and quiet. Reasonably priced. Easy to cut to length.

This is my second set of wood arrows, the first being another brand of "premium" cedar arrows. I'm a traditional longbow archer.

These arrows have been a pleasant addition to my archery gear. They just seemed to fit my barta bow, better than the carbon arrows I have been shooting... which really had performed quite well. All in all I really like the Arrows though they fly great with the Woodsman Broad head, and I have taken one deer with them thus far this year. I have no way of knowing if the crack happened at the plant, or during the packaging and shipping process. [...]

I started with a new 60# Tomahawk Diamond SS, and a dozen of these arrows this April, switching from my old broken Bear compound and aluminum arrows. I'll never go back. Life is good again! Folks these arrows are good. No frills, nothing fancy. Shoot and hold up well. First shot-one shot, Forkhorn, these and a Woodsman tip, venison in the freezer, need I say more? oh- thats after a summer of shooting them for target practice. How can it be better? Buy em!

I use these arrow for target practice and at O.S.T.A. shoots across Ohio. The finish on shafts are nice, white fletches make it nice to see and follow through flight with a white soft nock. Have a 5# range in spline weight makes them more closely match arrows. So far I have not found any fault in them.

I tried purchasing cedar arrows at various national retail chains, but less than half were straight. These arrows are mostly straight right out of the box and the ones that are not can be hand straightened easily. They look good and are well built. I purchased a second dozen and now that is all I shoot. I'm looking forward to hunting with them this fall.

Comments about Tred Barta Wilderness Arrows dz:

I recently received these arrows and had them out for some shooting the next day. Compared to my old arrows, these gave me some great groups. The nocks were a bit tight on my string though. During my practice the arrows proved to be durable, but did not withstand the force associated with an accidental hit against a metal frame (nothing you can do about that though). I like the natural look to the arrow with the one turkey feather. I would most likely by these again.

I have been an archer since I was a child and I have been bowhunting for 40 years. These arrows are everything Tred Barta Claims that they are. I hunt deer in upstate NY and practice whenever the weather allows. They are very straight, the nock allignment is perfect and they fly very consistently. The only complaint I have is that the groups are so small I keep chipping nocks.

The arrows "look" great, but out of a dozen arrows....4 of them started cracking/splitting when I was tapering them. But they are lightweight and straight from what I can tell. Did I mention they look good? I'll definitely try a different brand next time to compare the durability.

3Rivers Archery Response: This sounds like an issue with the adjustment of the taper tool, not the shafts.
