Comments about String Nocks:

A NOCK IS ESSENTIAL FOR PUTTING THE ARROW ON THE STRING IN THE SAME SPOT EVERYTIME.THESE ARE SOFT METAL AND PLASTIC LINER THAT WON'T DAMAGE THE STRING.EASILY BENT TO FIT WITH THE PLIERS.IT IS NO PROBLEM TO TAKE THEM OFF AND MOVE THEM UP OR DOWN WHEN TUNING THE BOWS NOCKING POINT.POLISH THEM WITH SOME FINE SANDPAPER WHEN THERE IN THE FINAL POSITION AND YOUR GOOD TO GO.

It would be nice if the brass was a little harder so as not to be marked by the nock pliers. I had to file the surface smooth once installed, so as not to tear my shooting glove.

A decent and simple soluton
By TimiusVerified Purchaser from Katy, TX on 6/15/2009
Pros:
Good Stretch, Lightweight
Cons:
Wears Down Easily
Describe Yourself:
Beginner
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about String Nocks:

I have used these string nocks on two different bow strings for bows that I have made. The nocks are easily worked around the string and hold fast to the string, but the soft brass does have a tendency to scratch up or disfigure slightly if you are using a larger nock with a normal set of nock pliers. It doesn't adversely affect the string's performance, but is more of a cosmetic issue.

I secured this nock in a way that I could alter the position on the string should the new string stretch, should accuracy suffer, maybe I just place the nock in a bad spot for me. Basically I put it on loose on purpose. No matter though, it never budged. Not once.

Comments about String Nocks:

I love the feel of a newly made Long Bow, I have crafted several from Hickory (a few trees that I harvested on the farm) and my pride and joy is the beautiful Ipe / bamboo backed bow I bought from 3Rivers. After it went through the final tillering process and was ready to shoot it a bit, I noticed that some om my arrows were going a little high. These beautiful little sting nocks STOPPED that problem the minute they were installed.

What can I say? They're GOOD!
By JhansenVerified Purchaser from Austin, TX on 9/10/2008
Best Uses:
Longbows, Recurve Bows, Wooden Bows
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Archer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about String Nocks:

Okay, so tied-on dental floss is lighter and reduces mass on the string. The brass nock sets are easy to apply, stay put when you clamp them down, and are easy to adjust for fine tuning the bow. I put on two of them, one above and one below the arrow. I may lose a couple of fps but I gain the confidence of knowing that the arrow doesn't move down the string on release.
