If a high-performance bowstring is what you're after try our hand twisted Fast Flight Flemish twist strings. All of our fast flight strings are 18-strands for a balance between speed and thickness for proper nock fit. Each one is built with the superior three-bundle construction. (Three-bundle strings are inherently more round and tighter than the two-bundle vriety.) Our Fast Flight Flemish strings come standard in a two-tone black and bronze. Please state the actual string length when ordering, not bow length. Note: Order by string length not bow length. Measure the bowstring you have and round up to the nearest full inch. These strings will stretch a bit as they're broken in. If you don't know the length of your bow string a good rule of thumb is that longbows take a string 3" shorter than they're marked and a recurve takes a 4" shorter bowstring. So, if your bow is a recurve and is marked AMO 60", a 56" string should fit. Recurve strings available from 44" - 63" and longbow strings available from 50" - 68". Specify actual length in 1" increments. (Select from the drop box below)

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

These strings will stretch for a good while. If you do not shoot for long periods I recommend leaving the bow strung for a least a day. Retwist for proper length based on stretched measurement. I have been shooting these strings for over a year and have had good luck with them holding up under a lot of shooting. Be sure to work bow wax in on a regular basis.

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

Gotta say I'm not a big fan of this string. Two weeks into it the serving (too small of diameter BTW) came unwound. So I bought replacement serving and a brand new tool for the occasion. Today I went to repair it and when I removed the old serving, one of the groups of strands snapped. Not good at all, but at least I wasn't shooting at the time.

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

I have bought this string as a backup. When it arrived along with another string I bought I noticed their was no difference in the loop sizes, both were big. The other string was fine. After shooting it for some time, I put it away as my spare because I felt it would be ok. About three weeks ago I needed to use it on the bow. After approx. 250-300 arrows I noticed that the bottom loop was fraying. The original string was on the bow for 3 years before any problems, this string didn't make it 3 weeks!!!!

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

I purchased the flemish string to replace the original string that came with the new recurve I had just recently bought. I had to adjust the brace height of the bow to shoot properly for my style, so being able to twist the string to get the exact brace height without the string over twisting made it easy to do with this particular string. I have had a yearning to get back to enjoying archery the way I did when I was younger, so finding products and resources that help me do so is a gift in itself. I truly enjoy the short information presentations you have put together for your customers. Thank you.

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

Bought two for my 65# recurve and one for my 45# take-down. The heavy bow kept stretching and stretching it until I didn't know if it would stop. Finally set up a nocking point after two days of stretching and twisting. Then I unstrung the bow for a week and it shrunk about an inch, throwing off my nock point. Basically, I have to keep the bow strung or shoot it a dozen times then shorten the string again and check the nock point all over. Have had much better luck with the 45# bow. Stretched very little and stays stretched even when unstrung.

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

I puchased this bow string for my recurve bow, because I broke two standard bow strings in a month and a half. This bow string has visually increased the speed of my arrows, and is very weather resistant. I would like to see a larger diameter serving. Most nocks don't allow the arrow to stay put once snapped on the string. However, I am planning on purchaing more of these same bow strings to keep on hand.

Nice string with better performance than dacron. However after getting the correct brace height, I only have about 3/4" of serving above the nock. It works but close to iffy. I put my own serving on the ends. Not enough a problem to make me cry though. Thanks.

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

It's probably a flaw in my technique but the nocks seem to come right off this string while I'm drawing causing two dry-firings of my bow. So I'm back to using the string that came with the bow and it works fine. Also the Samick website contends that FF strings are compatable with the Volcano but 3Rivers disagrees.

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

I bought one of these for my Longbow and one of my recurves, but I've only used it on the longbow, so far. It does a great job! It stretched a little after I first put it on, but about a month later and it hasn't stretched since. The string is thicker and stronger than the one I've previously used. I don't really have any complaints with it, it's pretty durable and good looking.

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

Put it on a used KM that I found online. Gainsville bow, so it is OK for FastFlight. Length perfect out of package and pre-twisted just fine. Dug out some vintage 60's Saunders helicopter looking rubber silencers, set nocking point, shot in the cold for a half hour in back yard, killed a deer with it by 5:00 that night! String noise pretty low for FastFlight! Just needs larger diameter center serving so arrow nock will fit tighter and not slip down so easy.

Best Uses:
High Performance Bows, Recurve Bows
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

I use a short powerful bow with specially constructed ends on the limbs..I am a tradition archer..using only two bows since 1961...A Bear Grizzly from 1968 to 2006, and now a Bear Super Mag...which has already taken 4 of my 60 archery kills, since 1961. These Strings are a perfect match for the bow, and actually enhance the speed and effectiveness of the bow. It is hard to find great quality strings in this age, and these strings fill the bill perfectly. They are strong, they fit properly, and the last. They are exactly what an old woodsman like me needs. I can shoot and hunt in peace and security, knowing that these strings fill my need.

Cons:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

The string fit the bow perfectly, but the Serving was way too thin. My arrow would literally fall straight down the string. I tried three style of nocks, with same results. I called 3Rivers and was told to wrap it in dental floss, told it was no big deal. I did that, but it wore out really quickly (30-ish shots). So I ended up having to re-serve it right away. Not really happy. Especially with follow up call where I was basically told I didn't know what I was talking about. I had three guys with 15+ years experience tuning bows all tell me the same thing, "The serving is too thin."

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

I got this to replace the string supplied with my bow, and I'm thrilled with it. It did come a bit too short, but after loosening the twist a bit it fits perfectly. The serving is very durable; I shoot somewhere around 50 to 60 arrows a day, and it's still in fine condition after 2 or 3 weeks, almost no signs of any fraying. All told, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good bowstring.

Great string but I wish it was a hair thicker. I have to bite some of my nocks down to keep them from falling off string.

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

Maybe my old string was worn out... Anyway, these replacement strings are very quick and smooth. The serving that came on the strings didn't quite cover my nocking point and protect from rubbing my bow arm, but that is easy enough to fix. I got two of them and set them up identically for the upcoming season. At this price you can't lose!

My grandson has this string on his Kodiak Magnum. And with him it takes a beating gets ignored, only gets waxed when I remind him, but this string is still like new and with that bow shoots very well.

Comments about Flemish Bowstrings Brownell's Fast Flight Plus:

I'm probably one of the few longbow enthusiasts with no interest in hunting. For me, its a mental/physical challenge. Mastering a bow is, of course, very important for a hunter, but its far, far, more. Kind of a kyudo/zen type of "moving meditation". I'm at the very beginning of a very interesting journey.
