I've had a cat whisker on both strings I've been using and they don't seem to show any signs of wear and, of course, they quiet my old recurve down really nice.

I had used musk ox hair silencers on my Tomahawk longbow and had really loved them (great traditional look/feel and very good at dampening vibration) but they had one major problem ... out in the woods they picked up burrs like crazy!

Though they aren't quite as "traditional" in their materials or look, these rubber Cat Whiskers don't have that problem at all and work just as well at deadening vibration. In the end, if you are actually hunting with your bow, you just gotta go with what works.

Also, you can't ignore that these Cat Whiskers are cheaper and don't require the user to split his string to install - making them very easy all around.

These cat whiskers are awesome! They install very easy. They are light, compact, water resistant, and best of all they don't get burrs in them like other bow string silencers. Don't waste your money on any other silencer.

Maybe it's my fumbling fingers but if you don't get the knot right the first time, then it gets harder every time you try to knot it because the strands come apart. It stops string vibration dead though.

I've used these on all my strings, and they last forever. They work well, won't wear out over time, and are dirt cheap. Not as pretty as some of the wool ones, but can't beat the performance for the price

I've used the cat whiskers and have always been a fan of them, but these thicker whiskers definately quiet the bow even more.

This product is much more durable than others. Probably the best string silencer this side of a string capture device.
One note of interest - I placed the product on the string using serving thread rather than the recommended method. Either way, it does not require pressing the bow.

Cat Whiskers are simple, inexpensive, and effective. I use them on all my bows and always keep a couple spares for new strings. I've had bow strings wear out before these do.

Only reason for the 4 star is I had a bit of trouble getting them in a knot because I've got big hands, if they were just a bit longer I would have given them a 5 but they do work great for quieting the bow string, just get someone with smaller hands to help.

Fur works well for most bows, but these are more effective in quieting a "noisy" bow. Heavy reflex/deflex and some recurves with Fast Flight string are examples.

It works well but mine doesn't look like the picture. I think it must take some dexterity and practice to get them on right. Mine don't look like their picture. Mine just kind of hang and look sloppy. However as I say it works well.

Cat whiskers are always a great choice; in my case I added a set to a higher performance bow just to make it a tad quieter for hunting. These work great to quite a really strong fast string.

Used on 1978 Browning with good results. They dampen well and last a long time.
