Now available in new stainless steel glue-on and screw-in models... made in the USA! Used since ancient times by the Huns and other eastern tribes, the whistling arrow was an important tool of communication during battle. Now you can own a piece of the ancient past with these modern equivalents of that time-honored tool! Our Whistling Points are a great novelty item. Although not suitable for hunting, they're great for re-enactments and other SCA events. Sold by the each. For the glue on point to fit you must taper the point end of your arrows to 5 degrees. I have bought two of these whistling heads and I bring them out now and then when practicing. They will get peoples attention. They are not the most accurate of arrow heads, but for the novelty of it makes up for it.

By Zen ArcherVerified Purchaser from Colorado Springs on 10/28/2009
Pros:
Accurate, Easy To Adjust, Quality Construction
Cons:
Heavy
Best Uses:
Attention getter, Historic reenactment
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Archer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Whistling Points:

These points are just the ticket for getting attention at the range. They are heavy. Mine (for 5/16' diameter shafts) weigh 225 grains. Once I adjusted for the extra weight they were quite accurate. The outer casing is removable (unscrews) for cleaning. Anyone who has an interest in Central Asian/Asian archery or just wants a cool novelty item should check these out.

Too Much Fun
By Zwickey BoyVerified Purchaser from Northern Colorado Rockies on 6/5/2009
Pros:
Durable, Easy To Use, Quality Construction
Best Uses:
3D Targets
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Archer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Whistling Points:

You will love these points. I used one at a 3D fun shoot 2 weeks ago, not for every shot, just when I wanted to turn a few heads. The point unscrews from the body to allow you to clean mud and foam out of the point which you must do to keep 'em whistling. My first shot everyone in my group asked "What was that?" It was great. Stainless construction. They are on the heavy side. Have fun.

Whistling Points
By JRY309Verified Purchaser from West Chester,OH on 4/8/2009
Pros:
Consistent, Durable, Easy To Use, Well Crafted
Cons:
Heavy
Describe Yourself:
Expert Archer

Comments about Whistling Points:

It is a lot of fun playing around with these points. It sure turns some heads when other shooters don't know you are shooting it. Only thing is don't shoot them in a foam target like a 3D target. I did once and then you half to pick the foam out of the point for it to whistle. Best shot in a sand pit or straw. But a lot of fun!

By Pluck YewVerified Purchaser from Burnt Ranch, Ca on 8/17/2008
Pros:
Sounds cool
Cons:
Breaks Easily, Heavy
Best Uses:
Target Practice
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Archer
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Whistling Points:

Fun to shoot. Neat sound. Unfortunately the brass is soft and the tip collapsed after a short time. They're a little expensive to break so easily. They are heavy; I put it on a flu-flu and the weight carries the flu-flu well. Fun while it lasted.

Not exactly what I expected
By DanVerified Purchaser from New Jersey on 5/20/2008
Best Uses:
Reenactment
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Archer
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Whistling Points:

These are not quite as loud as I expected. More of a 'shhhhhhh' noise rather than a true whistle. They can be tough to get out of a target since the diameter is wider than I expected. If you shoot into dirt, you need to take it apart to clean out the dirt. Not very useful. Guess they would be good if you were into re-enactments or SCA, but that's not my thing.

Too kool not to try
By BCVerified Purchaser from Millington,TN on 4/21/2008
Pros:
Durable, Very Straight, Well Crafted
Best Uses:
Target Practice
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Archer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Whistling Points:

Built like a Sherman Tank. This thing sounds like something out of the movie Robin Hood. It has a low whistle as it flies and really sounds kool. It's heavy, about 250 grains somewhat, but is fun to shoot. Try it to find out what your arrows will do with heavy points and a shaft that's big on FOC. Their great as a blanket prize for a club shoot too. If you shoot it in to the dirt you'll have to clean em out, but, so what.

not very durable
By naVerified Reviewer from Loveville Md. on 4/7/2008
Cons:
Breaks Easily
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Archer
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Whistling Points:

Can't give a detailed report on this item as it only survived one shot! I shot it as soon as I got it- out of my backdoor into a foam target. The arrow went through enough to hit the wooden stake that supported the target and snapped the end completely off. I realize this is a novelty item and would not expect hunting durabilty from it (though one might considering the cost!), but it would have been nice to have gotten a few shots from it with my grandsons in attendance :>(
