Comments about Long Bodkin Medieval Points 3-pk:
These bodkins are nice, but not the same type that 3rivers sold earler this year. I ordered 2 sets late winter '10 and they where about 1/2 inch longer and more heavy +heavy duty.
The batch I just ordered in July '10 are lighter, shorter and the rim is much thinner and does not except a 3/8 inch shaft. Also shows a lot of milling marks which the earlyer version did not have. So some work is needed if you want "authentic"
However, for the price they are a good deal and I cannot find a better deal on the internet.

These are great fun to use, especially with medieval styled arrows from an English longbow. They were fairly sharp when I got them, and cut through my foam target like butter. If you so happen to shoot them through a plywood backstop, I must warn, they're horribly difficult to get out, but that's perhaps the fault of the archer and not the bodkin. The same goes for hitting blocks of wood, it embeds itself like a nail, and I find hammering in one of those big 8 inch nails next to it opens the wood up some and makes it easier to get out. Hitting hard objects will sometimes cause the tip to bend, but 2 minutes and a file will have them in great shape again.

The long bodkin points are great to put on atlatl darts they fly well and are very strong. They're not too shart but have a nice lil piont that will pretty much go through anything. I was throwing my cane dart I had just finished and sent the whole tip into asphalt. It's a must try product for any traditional archer!

These are great better than boreing old feild points. They are exelent bodkins and go through metal like can openers, with Grizzlysticks I put them through 18 guage steel plate! And that's with a 60# Longbow I can't wait to see what they"ll do with my 100# longbow with 1000 grain war arrows? Exeptional construction they are a little scuffed from shooting through plate but other than that they still look brand new.

I used these points to make medieval arrows. They really add that extra something to make the arrows look really good. However, there are obvious machining marks on them, making them less authentic up close. Also, the patina, which looks very nice initially, eventually wears away after a few hours of use. Other than that, they perform well at the butts. Overall they are nice, relatively affordable medieval style arrowheads.

These are just to cool they look great shoot great and would work great for small game. I was putting one on and using a 1/2 plywood to push I put the tip through to the other side.

I love these arrowheads. I used these to make useable medieval replica arrows. I submitted the arrows as an SCA Arts & Sciences project and won first place!
