Comments about Thumb Rings:

I thought about making my own thumbring but decided to order one as a model. I'm glad I did, this is exactly what I would have wanted to make. Fit must be adjusted to your thumb, easy enough with a couple of bandaids! It is a beautifully finished piece. I like it a lot and would recommend this. Now to learn how to shoot with it.

Comments about Thumb Rings:

I have olny used the thumb ring once, but have found a problem. I had to file a groove for the strung to keep it from slipping either on to my thumb at the web or off the end of the ring.

Comments about Thumb Rings:

The thumb will swell, but this is natural. My thumb circumference measured just under 2.5" before my purchase, so I selected the small ring. After some shooting, the ring is a nice snug fit because of the swelling.[...]

Comments about Thumb Rings:

nice finish, good fit for off the shelf. My thumb is just a bit smaller so a thin piece of leather glued in works great. Also, one may want to take a round file and make a little lip for the string to sit on,rather than digging into your thumb.

Pros:

Cons:
Causes swelling of thumb
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Thumb Rings:

Shooting with the thumbring requires lots of patience and practice. One of the outstanding drawbacks not mentioned in the blurbs praising the use of the ring is the fact that your thumb will swell and while this is not painful it is very deteremental to managing the draw, as well as causing a problem when attempting to remove the ring from the swollen digit. I have still to learn to ignore the swelling of my thumb after about 12 or 15 draws of my bow string. However I am determined to master this technique.

Comments about Thumb Rings:

Get the book they sell here or you may be sorry because it is easy to put on backwards and misuse. Great workmanshipman, I have hugh fingers so needed Extra Large, had to made and shipped from Korea, took a long time to arrive. Very happy with product but if you have never shot this style there is definately a learning curve you must achieve. I still shoot better one over and two under but enjoy the challenge. Recommend.
