Comments about Medieval Huntsman Hunting Longbow:

For its price, this is a very good longbow and one that I would recommend starting with if you are interested in shooting primitive bows. I have had mine for about a year and the construction appears to be holding up despite being stored in a less than ideal way for several months. The hemp grip comes loose easily, but nothing a little wood glue can't fix. If you live in a dry climate you may wish to keep the wood oiled to prevent cracking. The poundage on this bow should make it suitable for hunting in most places as well. I would buy another one with little hesitation.

Comments about Medieval Huntsman Hunting Longbow:

ive had tis bow for a few weeks now and its been interisting... ive put some hellish bruses on my arm, torn pieces of my finger off, but none of that compares to the feeling of hitting the nock off an arrow... ive shot bows for 10 years (im only 17) all compound until this, and ive never shot this good... this is the best shooting, most fun bow ive ever shot... i would highly reccomend an extra string when ordering, as ive already broke the string that came on it... the endless loop dacron strings sold here work great... its a silent shooting bow too...

Comments about Medieval Huntsman Hunting Longbow:

I've always loved primitive bows. When I saw this offer, I jumped all over it. For the most part, I have no complaints at all. It is a very fun bow to shoot. Even at 55#, it's an easy draw. However, mine recently broke. I think I may have over drawn it by accident. Just stay to the draw lenth, especially for this bow! With my recurve I can sorta push it a bit, but not with this one. But I do plan on buying another one again very soon.

Silencers Make a Huge Difference

Comments about Medieval Huntsman Hunting Longbow:

I just put on two rabbit fur silencers that I cut from one of my hides. Probably won't last long because the fur is a little less durable than other types. Anyway, my primitive bow completely changed. Silent as anything and really smooth feeling after the release. Just an excellent change up. If you are going primitive or you already have a primitive bow, do yourself a favour and install some silencers to this type of bow.

Comments about Medieval Huntsman Hunting Longbow:

Now that I have put some time on this bow I decided to re-visit the review. I like this bow even more now. It's so basic and plain looking but a lot of fun to shoot. I've been tuning the string here and there and finding the shooting to be more enjoyable as I do this. I have begun to develop the muscle memory required for me to bring the bow onto target and get a really decent result/grouping. If I was to purchase another bow, I would stay primitive more than likely, as shooting from the knuckle is a fun challenge. Not only would I recommend this bow to a friend, I DID recommend this bow to my friend and after he shot it, his plans are to purchase one.

Comments about Medieval Huntsman Hunting Longbow:

First off, I got lots of help on my Saturday visit to 3RiversArchery!! I put many arrows through this bow to ensure it was right and to ensure I had the correct arrows. I learned a lot while there and will now use the web site for ordering. I like this bow a great deal. It keeps me traditional which is the only place for me, and it keeps me on target. Looks like a bow I could learn to make at home but I'm not interested in doing that so I'm grateful that 3Rivers Archery is carrying them. I'm a day-to-day target shooter who would be interested in small game and the challenge of hit and miss with this style of bow. Very happy so far.

Comments about Medieval Huntsman Hunting Longbow:

I own 3 bows ; compound, recurve and this bow. This bow has a compaitible to accuracy to an easy-shooting compound bow after a little bit of practice and work. The bow needs a little bit work on the handle to increase accuracy and stability. Other than that, the bow gets my 100%
