Comments about 70# Sinew:

I bough this product to make a primitive bow as a comparison with real sinew and was surprised at the strength. I would like to get this product in a non waxed version. I have also used it for making leather projects one of witch was a hatchet case. Looks outstanding but works even better.

I would think you could make just about anything with this stuff. Beats thread all to .... I've fot a long way to go before I even make a dent in my spool and I've used it to hang harness parts to paint. Used it to dip my shafts into sealers. I have plans on using it to make my back quivers as well as any other sewing project that needs a strong line.

Comments about 70# Sinew:

I usually make bowstrings from natural sinew, but I came to this website looking for very strong material that is cheap and will get the job done in terms of bowstrings. This artficial sinew is the best for any project (fletching, bowstrings, securing arrowheads, ect...), and is easier than having to pound sinew over and over again. The sinew needs no splicing and comes in very long lengths.

I use artificial sinew for any sewing or binding need. It is great. In today's modern world it is hard to find good and useful materials that fit the primitive lifestyle of the past, and 3Rivers provides a lot of those useful and hard to find items, with good and fast service. I intend to order more items from 3Rivers as soon as I can. Thank you.

Used this stuff for putting on stone points on my homemade arrows. Also used to help tie on feathers and give it that "indian" look. It's strong but the point will eventually start to cut thru it after multiple shots. However it seems like it would be useful for just about anything.

I am very pleased with this artificial sinew. I practice alot of outdoor survival skills and find this cordage to be perfect for all types of uses. I carry cuts of it in my survival kit and find it to be extremely strong when used. I first used this product years ago when it was introduced to me at a well known survival school, since then I have continued to use it.

I use this product to teach string making. It is easy to use and inexpensive. I also use the product for museum style replicas. Artificial sinew allows me to keep the real stuff for key projects and prevent humidity issues for the displays.

Excellent primitive style cordage.
By Zen Archer from Colorado Springs, CO. on 2/21/2008
Pros:
Abrasion Resistant, Authentic look, Durable, Lightweight, Strong, Water Resistant
Best Uses:
Atlatl darts, Primitive arrows, Wooden Bows
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Archer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about 70# Sinew:

If you are looking for a primitive style cordage for arrows or darts but don't want to use real sinew then this is the stuff. It has a very authentic look but is alot easier to use then real sinew. Works great for lashing feathers, bone and stone points to shafts on both arrows and atlatl darts. It also works well to reinforce self nocks cut into arrows. You can glue the sinew to the shaft with Barge Cement or just tie it on. I normally put a coat of Barge Cement over the top of the sinew. This keeps any knots in the sinew from unravelling.

We used this to make our own arrows for ceremonial purposes. It worked great for 11 yr. old fingers and inexperienced parents. Great product for scouts and lashigs to hold tight for smaller projects. You get a lot for your dollar compared to retail stores. Delivery was prompt as well. I'm very happy.

Great all purpose binding. The fact that it doesn't lose it's strength when wet makes it a permanent fixture in my sachel. It truly can be used for at least 1001 things, but when it comes to fletching my arrows and fixing my points......nothing beats the real thing.
