Mounting this compass flush in the face of the riser was a breeze and it becomes very effective when traveling through heavy blowdown areas and swamps, as the bow is hanging in your hand with the front of the riser up and the compass is right there to just glance at whenever you have a need to get your directions.
Product was shipped in a timely manner and arrived in excellent condition..

Installing the compass in a walking stick.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
I inlayed one in my bow riser. After 5 years a bubble so large developed, the compass won't turn. It rattles when I shoot.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
I have inserted a few of these in my bow risers, and have had no problems. Use a good quality forstner bit and they fit right in and hold with a little superglue.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
Great product. Drill a shallow hole in your bow's riser, set with epoxy, and forget about it till you need it. Then it's right there at your fingertips.
kicking deer likes it too !!

I use carpenters Cabinet Mounting Cement to attach a mini compass below the grip on my one piece hunting bows on the same side as the shelf. On overcast days its a simple matter to hold the bow flat for a few seconds to confirm magnetic north and deduce or confirm direction of travel. This does NOT work on takedown bows with metallic components.

Sometimes the moss is NOT on the tree at all. Get this compass, you will not be disappointed!
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
mounted it to my bow riser, great for checking wind direction while hunting. Really nice and compact also looks good.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
If you have your bow you have your compass and you need a compass to hunt the wind.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
These compasses are great. The small 10mm one was 'jammed/broken' when it arrived, but it is really too small to be of any good for anything. The 14 & 18mm sizes are great and can be mounted into a bow handle or inside your survival items as a backup.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
In the risers of recurve and longbows.Compass works great.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
Ordered the two smaller sizes of these. The larger of the two works fine, but the real small one does not work. The larger ones are GREAT!
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
Great little compasses. I mounted one in a bow riser and one in the end of a walking staff for my dad and so far they have worked great.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
This one saves space, You can put them everywhere, im going to put one on most of my rifles. If bowhunting were legal here in Sweden I would put one on my bow as well.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
This is an ideal size compass to inlet into a bow handle, large enough to be readable, small enough to not require excess handle material removal. The markers are readable in the dark to maintain direction to and from hunt area before daylight and after dark.
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
I get lost all the time! I started building bows and add one to every riser. Nice extra touch! I have even put them in rifle stocks, walking sticks,a fishing rod, quivers, watch band, you name it. These are the best quality small compass I have found. Easy to inlay or install and tough!
Comments about Mini-Compasses:
I always hunt or hike areas after I have studied a map, and I carry a compass. (retired Search & Rescue Tech-learned from other people’s mistakes) Sometimes the map goes with me, sometimes I just take some notes in my pocket, but I always have a compass of some kind. On overcast days it is difficult to keep track of direction so reference to a compass will keep you headed in the right direction. I purchased a [...] liquid filled mini-compass from 3 Rivers Archery supply and it works fine. I have ordered a bigger mini-compass that I am going to embed in my Howard Hill Tembo longbow like the picture on the cover of the Oct/Nov 2007 "Traditional Bowhunter" magazine. That will eliminate fumbling in a pocket for a compass to check on rough directions. I will use my mirrored Brunton with 2 degree marking when it's important to maintain a specific direction.
