Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
Difficult to adjust blades to get clean cuts, tends to simply crush grain. Tapers are consistently off-center. I cannot recommend this product.
Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
No matter how I adjust the blades the tapers are always ragged. New blades make no difference. Too hard to use. The small inexpensive plastic types work much better.
Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
I set up the tru taper tool as the instructions with a couple of minor adjustments as i went along and it worked fine for me without any problems and i used it on hexshaft wood shafts and there was no tearing of the wood like i got when using on one of the other tools. Just got to set it up properly.
Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
I really went off about this product when I first got it and rightfully so. However, once I tossed the original blades in the garbage and put on some new ones, the tool worked as it should. It seems the blades that came with it were the cause of my problems. My advice is to buy some extra blades if you plan on going with this tool. I've done about two dozen arrows with the replacement blades and all is well.
Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
I build my own arrows and this does not work well.
The tapers come out ragged and uneven... even with many adjustments to the blade settings... sloppy cuts... I've tried many times to use it, and I give up in frustration. Stick to the pencil sharpener type.
Sorry - can't recommend.
Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
Wow did I get disappointed with this tool. I was able to get one point done and that was it! I was beginning to wonder if my arrows were wet or something! A pencil sharpener is more efficient. I've got a dozen arrows waiting to go and I've spent over an hour trying to do one. Will be returning mine. I bought it from a store which gets some of it's supplies from 3R which of course includes this thing.
Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
Perhaps the biggest waste of money yet. The point taper created by the tool is, okay, after a lot of adjustments of the stop pin, and blades. The nock taper is an absolute failure. I've spent a couple hours hell-bent on getting the tool adjusted properly without any success. Highly Frustrating suing a tool that simply does not do the job it is intended for. Should have saved the receipt to return it. I thought perhaps mine was defective, but its obvious from others' similar experiences, that the tool is pretty much worthless.
Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
I originally was going to buy a Woodchuck, but couldn't justify the expense so I got the Tru-Center Taper Tool. Not only did I not get smooth tapers it seemed I had to adjust the thing for every shaft. Awkward to adjust. The machining wasn't precise and I don't like messing around with a tool that isn't well made. Upshot... sent it back and got the Woodchuck. Lesson to me. Get what I want.

Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
This tool just won the most "Useless Gadget Award" on Leatherwall. I purchased mine recently from 3 Rivers and fiddled around with it for a month before buying the Woodchuck power tool. Did OK on the point taper after much adjusting the blade but I could never get a nock taper. Maybe mine was defective. The little plastic pencil sharpener types are much better! Save your money for a power tool.

Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
It's a good tool, but takes a little getting used to. Does nocks & points, which is great, but the blades are not pre-set to angle & taper length, so you have to mess with it some. Also, requires a light touch to get it to taper smoothly without tearing chunks out of your shaft, because of the way the blade is mounted. Again, it's not a problem, it just takes practice.
Delivery was extremely fast, and the tool was well packed and arrived in good condition. Nice work, 3Rivers!

Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
I originally purchased one of these after a friend's recommendation, and after the first tapered shaft, fell in love with it.The quality of the tool is outstanding, and it makes tapering easier than anything. For the price, it is absolutely outstanding.

Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
I make lots of arrow shafts and every since I bought this tool I felt I needed to use it just because of the price I paid for it. It has made arrow making a task I dred. I've tried adjusting it every way possible but it just isn't that good of a tool. The plastic ones for less than $[$] work better.

Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
The tool is cost effective for me. I make my own shafts from 2by4 doug fir and 1by4 oak flooring planks. I attach the tool to my electric drill and feed my arrow shafts into the other end. Oak is brittle and the cutting blades get dull quickly. Doug fir "tears" and does poorly on the nock end but about 70% of the shafts survive to be used. The tool is good but I need to sharpen the blades often.
Comments about Tru-Center Taper Tool:
Very easy to use tool. Does its job. I had no problems.
