I got one of these for Christmas, and now I don't hardly go outside without it. I put it on the porch or near my daughter's sandbox, and she doesn't get bit once. I a Marine Reservist, and I take it with me to the field. I put it next to me on the hood of my humvee where I sleep, and I don't wake up in the middle of the night swatting bugs anymore. However, it'll run through a whole butane cylander in a night, so bring spares if you're going to run it for a long time like that. I can't wait to try it out in the deer woods this fall!

Works very well. Havent used it hunting yet but it works great around camp and while fishing. It does give off a little smoke and i would assume some kind of odor too, but i dont see how it would work without that. Overall great product, gets the job done!

Definitely keeps the mosquitoes away. Many websites state that it is odorless and therefore great while hunting. Since I don't believe in magic, I assumed it put off some kind of odor to deter the bugs. It does put off a smoke and odor, so if you are not downwind, there's a good chance of being detected. Great product though for any outdoor activity where you don't want to wear deet or other stinky bug sprays.

I was sitting in some ferns after a light rainfall hunting spring gobbler when they came. The little black devils swarmed me in a cloud. I reached into my pack and fired up the thermacell and put it next to me. In about 5 minutes the blackflies started thinning out, within 10 minutes they were gone.

I set this up on my deck in the evenings, on my garage workbench, and when out in the woods. It works everywhere. Under good to ideal conditions, the bugs just vanish. I spend a lot of summer nights in my garage shaping and tillering board and self-bows and the mosquitoes get fierce. I put this next to my workbench and I've had no problems after that. Likewise, camping with my family this summer, I noticed that it really cut down the number of bites my kids got. It works in light breezes as long as you're downwind. Anything stronger than the gentlest breeze, though, and the effectiveness diminishes sharply. Make sure to get the nylon holster that goes with it, though. It's not the easiest thing to transport, especially after it's been on a while and the front screen is hot.

With the early bow season opening in Georgia 1st week of September, I don't know how I did it before I got this thing!!! Keeps the skeeters away and haven't had any deer react negatively to it.
