Comments about Feather Burner:
Long before feather choppers became available, people burned their feathers. If they did it indoors, they're probably dead by now. Noxious fumes, you bet! Do it outside. There is a long learning curve as the directions (and even the 3Rivers video) didn't help much. Bending the wires smoothly is a challenge but once you've got it the way you want it, which is any way your imagination takes you, you can zip them right out. More satisfying than the chopper, but harder to master.

Comments about Feather Burner:
Directions could have been better as to the fine points of operating it. The company suggested keeping the wire 1/16" from the shaft. I backed it 1/8" away and still had scorching on my crest paint. I was forming a parabolic. I did one dozen and thought I was spinning the shafts quick enough. Three Rivers video didn't address this problem. That problem aside, I came out with very nice results, cleaning up the tag ends of feather with sharp scissors and a razor blade. It's certainly fast. Smells like burning hair which may not bother me as much as it bothers others. I will recommend this with an obvious qualification.

Burning gives an appearance that can not be created by any other method.
