These weight tubes made me make the switch from aluminums to carbons for my recurve hunting bow. One helpful hint: make a couple pinches on the tube with pliers prior to inserting into arrow shaft. It keeps the tube in place so there's no rattling and the tube won't tend to pop out of the nock end upon impact with the target.

Great product. Wanted to change my hand weighed 250 grain target arrows into heavier hunting arrows as I have depleted my hunting arrows and have lots of target arrows. These tubes worked perfect. I was able to bump my shafts up to 333 grains, which will give me a 433 grain hunting arrow with a 100 grain broadhead.

I love these weight tubes. The fit into the gold tip arrow shaft was just right.Tight enough so it did not move side to side but loose enough to be very easy to install. I also think that they made it harder to damage the arrow. The only thing I can think of is they help ubsorb the energy from a hard surface impact. I am allready planning to get me more and others for my wife and son. Enjoy your shooting.

i was concerned the tubes would change the arrow spine. i tested them (2 lb weight on 26" span) on gold tip pros 5575 and red head supreme lite 350 without inserts, with 5 gr/in, and 8 gr/in tubes. regardless of which carbon arrow, and regardless of which tube, there was no change in spine. also, i used a single GT arrow and a single red head arrow for all three tests. have used only the 5 gr/in for hunting. nice pass through on a medium sized boar.

I recently built some carbon arrows for my 70lb. Kodiak, even thought I got 340 ICS Beman carbon shafts they simlpy would not group. After I added the 5 grain per in. wgt tubes it bumped the arrow wgt. up to nearly that of the wood arrows I had been shooting. The tubes fit very snugly inside the shafts and I am getting some amazing groups now and probably twice the penetration!

I use the product to increase my arrow weight from 375grain to 610 grains. At all yardages out to 60 I gained about 2 inches of penetation into a Block layer target. Very Happy. I mostlly hunt elk and bears with this set up

I suppose if you need to increase your mass weight in a hurry, without buying new arrows this system would accomplish that. But if you want to stay w/in proper FOC percentages, and consider proper dynamic spine in your tuned arrows, these tubes mess with all that. I don't understand how this item ended up in a traditional catalog, This item may work well for compound arrows. I think if you are serious about your arrow tunning and want a heavier arrow, get shafts at the proper weight and spine.

These things are a great way to add weight to a carbon arrow. I shoot a 65 lb longbow. The 8 gpi tube, in combination with a 100 grain brass insert and 100 grain point, gives me a Traditional Only 400 carbon arrow that weighs 705 grains. The performance and flight characteristics of this weight arrow are ideal for my bow. Hand shock is virtually eliminated. The tubes are easy to install. With a slight pinch with pliers on both ends, they fit tightly inside the shaft. Only one problem, due to super penetration, my arrows now blast completely through my target. This is a good problem to have. Time for a new target. Wild boar beware.

The carbon arrow weight tubes helped me put the amount of weight I needed in my carbon shafts to get good penetration on big game animals. I am a poor graduate student that was trying to scrape together more money to by different shafts in order to reach my goal of more weight when I saw these inexpensive, durable, weight inserts. They are very easy to install due to the video that 3rivers archery has on their website.

A simple way to add weight to carbon arrows. I tried one of the 3 g/in in a 30" Gold Tip 5575 that I've been shooting with a 175 grain field tip out of a 60# Recurve and it flies wonderfully and hits like a hammer. Look forward to using one on a whitetail with a 150-175g broadhead.

These weight tubes are great. I bought the 3gpi tubes to up my arrow weight for hunting elk. My arrows weigh 522 grains now, and all are accurate to with in 1 grain. This tells me that the tubes are very consistent. The only problem I had was that 6 of the tubes were chipped on the ends. It was okay because they come longer than you need, but it took a little more time than I would have liked for trimming. They fit snug, and don't rattle at all. I used their pinch technique to ensure no rattling as well.

I wanted to give my arrows some extra weight. They were over 500gpi, but weren't suited very well to my bows. I got these 8gpi inserts and now my gt7595s with 125g heads and these 8gpi inserts are appx 680grains. they fly very well from my two longbows.

Some tubes were off up to 10 grains for the total length. The crimping required to tighten them up made it difficult to insert and at the same time keep them loose enough to not rattle. If they were cheaper and matched weight they would be much higher quality. Go with stiffer arrows and heavier points if you have the choice.

It couldn't be any simpler. I was looking to add weight to my carbon hunting shafts. Trying to reach that magical 9 to 11 gpi. Just slide the weight tubes inside the shaft and all shafts weighed 596 to 600 grains. Very consistent and easy to use.

I bought 3 gpi for my 340 Beman arrows that I shoot out of my compound. It was "The Great Experiment" to see how heavy I could shoot out of my compound without killing my velocity so that that I would be hurting my arrows energy and penetration. As it turns out I am not going to be using them but they fit well in the shaft and were extremely easy to use.

I shoot a Tomahawk longbow and wanted to pair it with the straightness and durability of carbon arrows. I found that Beman Bowhunters are an affordable option for me and are always in stock at my local archery shop but at 8.4 grains per inch, they just weren't heavy enough.

With my current point/nock/fletching weight, I needed these weight tubes to get me to where I wanted to be in grains. Depending on the type of shooting you do, including what nocks and points you use you use (I often shoot blunts into hay bales or judos into stumps so there is significant impact), you might have to crimp the tubes with pliers before inserting to keep them tight in the shaft so they don't blast your nock off on impact. Or, once you're sure you've found the tube that works for your arrows, you can always put a little glue on them as you insert them too. Obviously, it is a more "permanent" set-up at that point but it does the trick.

Decided to try these inserts to add weight to the Carbon Express Heritage shafts. Final arrow weight came in at 550 grns with a 140 gr tip and 5 gpi inserts with Heritage 150 arrows. They fly true and consistent, and no rattling in the shaft.

Used these to bump up the weight on my hunting arrows. Added weight without really affecting the spine, just as I had hoped, but after several rounds of practice a few of the tubes were starting to break inside the arrows. These were the 3 grain tubes, so the plastic is pretty thin. The 5 or 7 grain tubes might hold up better.

I can get my carbon arrows up to the weight I want easily with these. They are just like a thick soda straw. Just pull out the nock and slide the weight tube in your shaft. Trim it with a knife so the nock can fit back in and your done. I sometimes put small crimp marks along the sides of the insert with a pair of pliers so there is no rattle at all.

I have used weight tubes in about 6 dozen arrows to add more mass for better penetration in hunting with carbon arrows. There seem to be no negative effects on arrow performance and they definitely do a good job in adding weight. I will continue to use them in the future. They are simple to use and cut easily with a knife or scissors.

These tubes are great! They are super easy to install and really beef up the arrow weight. The only issue is that THEY WILL CHANGE THE SPINE IN MICRODIAMETER ARROWS (MFX and Axis). Not sure why, but they did effect the spine of my MFX arrows. Be sure to allow for experimentation to assure good arrow flight.

I enjoy the durability of a carbon arrow. The only draw back was the weight of the arrow when I was shooting my longbow. The weight tubes did not affect the spine or flight of the arrow but increased my kinetic energy that resulted in much greater penetration. I am very pleased with this product.

I purchased the 5/16" x 3 gpi tubes for arrows listed in the catalog and they fit perfectly and were very easy to install. The 5/16 were too big for my ST Excel shafts so I purchased the 1/4" x 3gpi for Easton ST Excel shafts, believing if they were a little small I could simply wrap a little tape to make them fit. To achieve a tight fit without rattling in Easton ST Excel shafts required a minimum of 4 complete wraps of 1/2" masking tape every 4 - 6 inches. I don't know exactly how much weight this added, but it is not a good solution.

These weight tubes are an easy and effective way to add weight to your arrows. When tapped on the side a slight rattle can be heard. I do not notice it when shooting, but it may cause a nervous animal to jump the string. I have not yet had the opportunity to use them in a hunting situation.

I used these tubes to beef up the weight of my vapor pro hunting shafts for hunting scrub bulls in Australia. the fit is tight so the shafts do not buzz when shot, which is very important when hunting dangerous game animals. I tried using benman flash 600 carbon arrows but they were lose fitting. The 2gpi weight tube fitted perfectly over these arrows then slid into the vapour pro with a little pressure for a snug fit. These arrows weigh 820g total with 100g inserts and 125g broadheads.

I shoot a 67 lb. Longbow. I needed to bump up the weight on my arrows to get the desired weight I needed. This product worked very well and was so simple to install. Plus it can be removed anytime. I have no complaints at all about it. I highly suggest using these tubes If you need weight added to your carbon or aluminum shafts.

I had a difficult time finding arrows that would fly properly on one of my bows. When I found carbon arrows that did fly, they were much to light for quiet flight and bow limb protection (350 grains). Adding these weight tubes increased the weight to 485 grains without affecting the arrow flight significantly. Great product!
