Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

my favorite past time is stump shooting. but i always lost arrows cause when i missed it would slide under leaves or soil or grass, numerous losses due to useing fieldtips. got some hammers about 1 1/2 ago been buying em since. these prevent the arrow from sliding to far under the soil, or whatever obstacles u face. i have hammers in just about every grain weight they sell. good stuff

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

I shot a small ground squirrel at 20 yards with "The Hammer."(145gr screw in) "The Hammer" made a loud "THWAAAK!" and the squirrel fell into his hole with my arrow still in him, dead. This also happened to be my first ground squirrel with a traditional bow and the first kill with my new Tomahawk.

I bought these heads for shooting gophers, and am extremely pleased with them. They are tough, accurate, hit very hard and most importantly, they don't skip far! I have not lost an arrow yet with these, and I used to lose them regularily. Also, the gophers don't go far as these heads hit them hard. All in all, pretty much perfect.

The hammer is made of poor quality steel. The shafts break at the end of the threads. This is happening with solid hits on stumps. This has happened with nine of the twelve heads that I bought.

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

I haven't taken any small game with this point yet, but have spent some time stump shooting in the mountains, and also roving in the sage brush near my home. The Hammer has impressed me as being very well made, nearly industructable, and well designed. I really like that my arrows don't skip except on very flat shots onto hard ground, and then they usually flip up and don't go far. I've no doubt the design would work great on a variety of small game as well.

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

I have yet to actually come into contact with any game, so I cannot comment on knockdown power. I can tell you though it is a very durable head. I have missed grouse and rabbits in all terrain. The hammer head takes rocks and gravel roads with ease. The serrated edge also helps the arrow to pop up a little better than some other blunts helping to alleviate arrow loss. It will be another order I'll be making very soon. Nicely priced too.

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

I have been using these heads for stump shooting in the back yard and for some pest reduction efforts (Rabbits!!) and the have performed great! They are exactly what they say they are...Hammers. They seem to have just enough size to not completely bury themselves in the grass on a miss. They penetrate a little too much for my taste on an actual hunting tip, so head shots are a must if you plan on eating any small game you shoot, but they sure knock down anything they hit. They take just enough of the shock out to no wreck the arrow. They fly just like my field points but DO NOT shoot them at your block. They will tear it to pieces! Overall they are great and I would highly recomend them.

Service & Delivery comments:

They actually arrived faster than they said they would. It was only 2 days I think!

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

This head is a phenomenon! For those of you that have used the old Ace Hex-blunts, the Hammer is bringing that technology right up to date. With an excellent weight-range, plus the option of either glue on or screw in, The Hammer truly is a small game/stumping head for everyone! It snags the grass & doesn't bury whilst stump shooting, it's tougher than your Granny's boots & it shoots right with your broadheads & field points due to the fact that you can finally match the weights instead of having to use a 125gn blunt whilst your arrows are tuned for a 200+gn broadhead.

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

I honestly bought these because the picture of them looked cool and I needed some blunt tips for practice and the occasional varmint. When they arrived, I was in awe of the design when I first saw it up close. What I was not prepared for was the level of devastation that this point inflicts onto its target. I was expecting the arrow to hit the target and bounce off a bit with the normal THUMP you get from a blunt. Because of this tip's design and because of the rifled fletching, the spinning arrow turns this point into a miniature long range hole saw. The first arrow I shot at my foam target hit a thinner section and the arrow cut out a cylindrical plug of foam and penetrated the entire target fletching and all without stopping. I took a raccoon that was ravaging our garbage cans and the result looked like something out of a Quentin Tarantino film. This is not a traditional blunt and should be treated as half broadhead half, field point, and three quarters drill hammer.

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

I ordered the 125 grn screw-in Hammers and put them thru 2 stump shooting sessions with no signs of deformation or bending. Very impressive. The edges are sharp, and looked like they would put a hurt'n on small game. I finally got the chance during my last stump shooting session with my 55# shrew longbow, on a beautiful Abert's Squirrel that was in the top of a pine tree here in Colorado. One shot is all it took... knocked him clean out of the tree and by the time he hit the ground, he was DRT (dead right there). He is such a prized trophy to me, I plan on having him mounted. Thanks Hammer!

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

Have you ever wanted a tip that wont break but yet hits like a ton of bricks? If you said yes, then this is the tip for you. I have tried several styles and brands of blunts. The Hammer is just what it says, a Hammer. These tips are all metal and no thin flimsy points to break off. I shot a bunch of stumps, rocks and limbs and never once did I have a problem with these tips. They hold up very well and the design does not allow it to go into the ground very deep, making it easy to find your arrow. You won't go wrong with the Hammer. Just screw it in and start knocking things out.

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

These things fly better than the hex blunt and did the trick on the small game I hunt as well. The impacts were devasating. Also the best stumping head I've ever used. They penetrate enough to hold the arrow but not so much that you have to dig them out with your knife. The edges catch the grass/ground when you miss so they don't bury. An excellent product.

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

I ordered a set of these heads to try because I liked the design. I mounted them on some Gold Tip carbons and tried them out. They fly great! I shot a 16 oz plastic bottle to pieces just throwing it around my yard. I shoot these better than my field tips. Arrow retrieval was easy because the design of the heads either kept my arrow from getting buried in the grass or made it tailkick and it would be laying right on top of the grass. Shot an apple stump in my yard a few times just to see what would happen. Solid hits with expected penetration. These should work great on small game but I haven't had the opportunity to try them yet. I wouldn't hesitate to take out rabbits or squirrels with them.

This is a well made little smallgame head! These heads are nearly indestructable which led to me shooting them out of my compound bow too. I can tell you that 338fps will not break this head!

Comments about The "Hammer " Small Game Blunt Screw-In:

I purchased the “Hammer” for stump shooting and small game and to compare with Zwickey Judo points. The Hammer rivals the Judo for “unloseability” and toughness. It did not skip even on hard clay and did not bury under grass. Unlike the Judo the Hammer has no springs to break. Plus it fits better in a quiver and/or hip pocket and is less expensive. I haven’t tried it on game yet, but feel certain the sharp fluted, angular design will prove devastating.

Just a sliver of teflon tape in the threads holds will keep the point from rattling. This point hits really hard.

Very good in the field. Edges make it hard to sneak under the grass. I am impressed. Thanks again 3rivers!
