The workmanship of this bow is very good for the cost. It was easily set up and tuned. I got the 45# bow and it shoots my 5/16" hardwood arrows very well. I applied a rest, set a knocking point and was shooting straight immediately. String leeches and camo limb sleeves quieten this bow down well. Smooth draw for a short bow.

The bow is beautiful and fast. We sent it back because we need a 30 + " draw and this bow does not suit that.

It gives me the quality, beauty, and functionality of what I was expecting to get if I were to buy a bow three times it's cost. It is my starter bow after being out of archery for about 40 years. Wow, what a starter bow!!! All my research paid off after visiting at least 80 archery websites and about 50 of them were bow makers.

Comments about Volcano Recurve Bows By Greatree Archery:
When I purchased the volcano, I was looking for an inexpensive trad. bow to shoot with my son (he's a longbower). When my bow came to me, it was beautifully made with no visible flaws, and shot smoothly and comfortably. We shoot 3d targets with a local team weekly and my volcano has proven well with accuracy, not to mention that the recurve guys have all tried it and commented on how well it shoots. Needless to say, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Comments about Volcano Recurve Bows By Greatree Archery:
I love this bow. I bought it about a year or two ago because I loved recurve and this was the only bow i could really afford (since a teenager doesn't make much money...) I think this bow delivers an adequate amount of power (it's 45#). I haven't had the chance to really "hunt" (not counting birds) with it yet, but I do a lot of target practice, and compete with my friends. This bow is definitely very sturdy and very durable. What more can i say? It's amazing.

Comments about Volcano Recurve Bows By Greatree Archery:
With my draw length of 30+" and this bow's short 58" stature I was a little worried about finger-pinching and stacking but that doesn't seem to be a problem. It draws smoothly and shoots quiet and hot. I've still got my eye on a Tomahawk but for $400-$500 less the Volcano will do for now.

Comments about Volcano Recurve Bows By Greatree Archery:
I bought a #50 Volcano figuring that for $240 it would make a nice "basement bow" for keeping form & conditioning up during the Winter. When it arrived I was astonished to unpack a bow pretty enough to match or beat my customs. I set it up as I do most all recurves, with a T-300 rest positioned 1/2" above the shelf with the spine plate removed and replaced with a piece of rug rest. I put a set of Wolly Whispers in the string 11" below the loops and started with a brace height of 8" & nock point of +3/8 with a tie in nock (I shoot 3 under). Using 29.5" (I draw 28.5") CXTH 4560s with 3-4" vanes, 50 grain brass insert, and 125 grain point (total weight 530 grains) it shot like a dream. Plenty fast (I would guess in the low 180's), smooth, quiet, & accurate. It's every bit as good a shooter as my customs costing more than twice as much. In fact had I just been handed this bow without knowing anything about it, I would never have guessed it to be a production bow costing under $300. I highly recommend the Volcano for beginner or expert alike. You won't believe how much bow you will get for the money...

This bow is lightweight, well made, and shoots extremely well. Great bow for woodland and brush hunting. Short bow allows for quick draw and manueverability in tight spots.
