The grizzly is alot of bow for the money. It has alot of power, don't notice any stacking or hand shock. I look foward to shooting it everyday after work. When I brought it home I shot it for two hours. I can't wait for hunting season.

While deployed in Iraq, I kept thinking about trying traditional archery again. I last gave it a go some 15 years ago. Today I put feathers in flight........and brother let me tell you, I am a born again traditional bowman. Thanks Fred for 50 years of a working man's bow that is time tested and proven. I couldn't be more happy with results and the way that bow fits + feels....and yes, those arrows zipped off the dacron string with purpose and found that target forty times before I decided to stop before one got away from me....lol

Very nice bow for both the young archer or the middle aged like me... One idea for keeping this bow looking and lasting as the gem it is.... Endust makes a non-scented dusting spray. A light mist on a soft cotton cloth and a minute of your time will surely make you smile.

This bow is a great bot for the money. i got it when i was 14 the #50 shot great. 16 now still shoots amazing, good for target and hunting. might step it up a bit though and get a tomahawk longbow woodland hunter diamond series, the #70. get me some deer with that

This bow is a small, but significant, advance over the original Grizzly, with better tips and sight window. I like the handle which places my hand level with the bottom of the shelf. The bow is easy to set up and draws without stacking to 28". The overall construction and finish is excellent on this time-tested bow.

As a former compound user and hunter, i did tons of research on recurves when i decided to go traditional. Decided on the Grizzly and man am i happy. This bow is a work of art, and you can't go wrong on the price. Shoots like a dream. Got it in #45 and it throws arrows like a missle. Can't wait to get in the Colorado mountains for elk next fall.

This bow is a good choice for a mature archer. I bought mine too young and it took me a long time to get up to full draw. This bow seems a little harder to draw than some longbows I've tried. Also, it is hard to string depending on your style of stringer. In addition, this bow is a little short, (because it was designed to be a maneuverable hunting bow) so it may not be the best choice for a tall archer like myself. However, its great construction, classic look, and awesome power, far make up for any shortcomings. Just make sure you can handle the full weight, and then watch the target scream and run!

i shot this bow the grizzley at cabelas in reno. i was really impressed on how well it shot. it was smooth no handshock,quiet,and lite in the hand,i shot the 50lb. i mite get the 55lb. plus it was very fast.

To tell you the truth I don't know much about archery or hunting but this seems to be an extremely good bow for the cost. Very accurate and very powerful. Great for practice. A draw back may be that the bow seems to be loud when shot but I have no frame of reference so I am not sure. All in all, this bow is sick and definitely would recommend it to someone who is getting started.

I've been shooting longbow and recurve for 12 years now, and I've got to say this bow is impressive. I'm someone who is always scheptical about new things, but I was happy with this bow from the first shot. I am a serious (whitetail) bow hunter, and I'm excited because I just bagged my first 10pt. with my 50# Bear Grizzly on Nov. 3rd 2008. At 20yds, I had a complete pass through and my buck only went 30yrds.

I just use my recurve for recreational archery in my backyard. For me, the grip is comfortable and promotes a stable shooting position. The draw is smooth and consistant with no evidence of stacking and the finish and construction seems second to none. Fred Bear's spirit and dedication to quality still live on at Bear.

OMG! this bow is amazing! i walked into my local archery shop and picked out a few bows off the shelf that looked like something along the lines i was looking for. They were all priced execpt for the bear grizzly, i shot all of the bows i had picked up and this one by far smoked them all! i was dying to see how much it cost, when i heard 300 my jaw dropped! it really brings back the ease and simplicity of instinctive shooting. no stack what so ever and its blazing fast! im buying one right now!

I really like this bow. For the money it is probably the best buy on the market. It is accurate and like all Bear Bows, it is of high quality. One personal dislike is the flat line of the handle front, I much prefer the rounded shape that Martin Archery uses for their products - but it does not affect the performance of the bow, it's just a personal matter.

I orginally purchased the Grizzly as my back-up bow but after shooting it, my overly expensive longbow got put in the corner. This thing is sweet shooting, quiet, easy to tune and powerful. I have a long draw and there's no stacking whatsoever. My Beman MFX 400s shoot great with my 50# draw weight and 145 grain field points. I had a Bear Takedown and I swear this little gem shoots better than that. It's definately my primary bow this fall. As a matter of fact, I'm ordering another as a back-up. And for the price......it's a steal. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent bow, with a smooth draw. I rarely want to shoot my compound after shooting this bow. I plan on hunting all I can with it this year. It seemed louder than other bows I have shot, but changing the brace height helped. I imagine string silencers would also help.

I looked at many different longbows and recurves before I bought my Grizzly at 50#. I practiced with it for three months before my first archery deer season. Many people in my camp thought I was stupid for going traditional but none of them killed a 4x4 mule buck running away at 25 yards either! Right thru the lungs! This bow is well worth it!

I use this product mostly from my back yard. I shoot at a target thats about 20 yards away. This recurve is very powerful and easy to draw back. The first shot I took with it I hit the target dead on. This bow is a must get.

I tested the 50# model first and found it to be a pleasure to draw at 29 inches and arrow flight was quick. I then shot the 55# model and purchased it.
