Boy what a disappointment, I tried to save a buck and paid for the mistake. Tip Protector is about as thin as a garbage sackWhen I laced it with the provided artificial sinew, the pre-punched holes tore .To be honest, I probably would get as good or maybe better protection using some quality duck tape.[...]The only good that came from this purchase is using it as a pattern idea for making your own out of quality material.

The leather is about as thin as a paper grocery bag. I don't think it would protect the tip from much. The lacing ripped through the holes as I stitched it together.
