Design and construction are good, however I had the same problem as the other reviewer. As soon as I took it out of the package, I put it on my flat bow, and the string broke twice trying to pull it taunt.
I am a leather working Hobbyist as well, so my solution is simple I am replacing the string that holds the bowstring taunt with a piece of suede lace. I am considering making a braided chord out of artificial sinew as a replacement string, as it would then be more weather proof.

The first time i put this on my bow the leather strings broke right off. There's no way to make it tight enough to keep the bow sting taught without the leather breaking.

These babies help keep your string from untwisting and your tip protector from falling off. They also look very cool on your bow!
