    Reminded me of Wild Amer. Not really a good hunting video. Though it did have good camera work.

    3Rivers Archery Response: Primal Dreams is Not a hunting DVD, thought it does have some hunting shots, the movie is about the understanding of the hunter and his/her relationship to Nature. If you are looking for a hunting DVD, this is the wrong DVD for that.

    If there is a better dvd about the spirit of the the hunt, I doubt it'll be in my lifetime. I doubt I could handle it anyhow. This dvd brought tears to my eyes, & a thrill to my heart. I honestly watch this dvd 3-4 times a year.

    This movie is about the philosophy of hunting, the spiritual connection between hunter and God's creation. The scenery and wildlife footage is incredible. It was about 2 hours long and would have been perfect at 80 to 90 minutes.

    This is not a "how to" or a "watch me hunt" video--there are probably 2-3 actual kill shots during the entire video, with the rest of the hunting footage involving the hunter coming up to an already down animal. This does not detract from the film, as long as you go into it with proper expectations.

    This film would make a great gift for a hunter who is as committed to the philosophy of hunting as to the actual act of releasing the arrow or pulling the trigger.

    The Wensel brothers took a different angle with this film. They show the animals going about their daily lives. This list of animals includes turkey, a little bear footage, deer, elk, and moose. I enjoyed watching the animals go about their lives but I figured it would have more hunting in the film. The footage they captured was amazing at times and so-so at other times. I think it was a little drawn out but I still would recommend it for someone who is looking for an appreciation of the hunt and animal, not your standard hunting film.

    If you are wanting to buy a hunting dvd, then this is not for you. I was interested for the first 5 minutes, but the music and the constant video footage of game became too repetitive. The music is good, but once again not a hunting dvd. I found this to be more of an eductation video and not for what I was looking for. I can see where the Wensel brothers were going with this, and they had a good thing going but they drug it out way too long.

    This is the best dvd on hunting. I watch it two or three times each year. It always comes off as fresh and interesting. I have over 50 dvd's and vhs's and only October Whitetails comes close. I highly recommend this dvd.
