This product worked well for it's intended purpose. It would be nice if the customer could pick the 8 arrows that they wanted. I really could have used four arrows of two different weights. One of the two arrows for one weight wouldn't stay straight for more than 3 shots. This made testing quite a bit harder.

I ordered these arrows to find the right spine for my 45# Browning recurve. It was very easy to tell with these arrows which spine flew the best. Arrows are very good looking aswell.

I ordered this test kit so that Robin Hood and I could work out the best balance of arrows, bow, and archer for the upcoming shooting season. So far, it has met all our expectations, and we are beginning to figure out which errors are sloppy technique and which ones are poorly balanced equipment. This has been a great learning experience, I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to closely analyze his or her shooting skills.

I now know what arrow spine flies perfect out of my bows. I have two recurves that have the same poundage but they do not shoot the same spined arrows. I feel more confident knowing what kind of arrows to purchase to feed my bows. If you are a beginner do yourself a favor and buy this product. It will save you time, money, and headaches. You will be amazed at how a five pound difference makes in finding the perfect spined arrow.

These are my first set of wood arrows. I have been shooting for quite some time and of course started at alum. then migrated to carbon but although I have always shot a trad. bow (recurve,longbow, and stick) the arrow never mattered as long as it did its job. I ordered two of your test kits because it seems that no matter what spine, weight, or length (with some extent) as long as I do my part, the arrow goes where I want it to. That being said I do like these arrows and since I shoot mostly 3D, backyard, and "hey buddy I bet you a dollar on best group at 125 yards in the pasture" shoots, I have been pleased with flight, looks, consistancy, and overall speed. I have these arrows fitted with everything from barta blunts, bunny busters, zwickeys and field points and they fly well (penetration is excellent also) my only fault with them is their strength, and that could also come from the fact that I have only shot Alum. and carbons which are really tough for my abuse. Other than that I have been greatly pleased.

New to the longbow, I used the arrow chart and bought a dozen arrows. They were the wrong size. I got the test kit and it turns out the arrow that shot best (bare shaft test) was heavier than I would have ever thought.

I bought a used longbow. Being new to traditional archery, I didn't know what arrows to buy, since trying lots of different arrows a dozen at a time would cost too much to justify. When I saw the test kits, I knew this would help me decide on the correct spine, so I bought this plus a test kit of practice points. I was able to decide the proper spine, and points to use with my bow. Didn't cost nearly as much. This product is worth the expense, if you don't know what you really need. I would buy again if the situation presented itself. A few of the arrows were not perfectly straight, but were easily straightened.

Arrows are expensive! Before I saw this kit, my only option was: 1. Try and guess the spine needed for a bow when I really have no idea where to start; 2. Buy a dozen arrows for each of several spines around the guessed spine; 3. Refinish the arrows, add nocks and feathers; 4. Add the wrong guesses to the firewood heap. With the kit, the arrows are finished (except for the point), almost ready to shoot. In my case, my first guess was quite off -- this would have cost another dozen or so arrows normally. Six arrows, and I now have the spine dialed in.

This test pack is an invaluable tool for setting up any traditional bow, get the right arrow spine for your equipment the first time, no costly mistakes. For a modest investment I have been able to determine the best arrow spine for three different traditional bows saving me the time and expense of ordering the wrong arrows for each bow. I only had a single problem with this product, I had to hand straighten a couple of shafts before I mounted points and started shooting and that was hardly time consuming.

I couldn't answer the pro's or con's because I don't have tips on the arrows, because nothing in the product description tells me I need tips. Then I get tips and nothing with the tips tell me I need to taper the shafts. So I still can't use the arrows because I can't put the tips on. I've had to place 3 separate orders in order to get arrows I can shoot. I'm a beginner, there should be information to help the beginner.

As true beginner it would be nice if the arrows came pre-tapered for the points, and with instructions as to how to apply points. Otherwise, I finally got the points on and the arrows shoot fine, even hitting the target occasionally. It is a great way to see how different arrows act.

Most of the arrow's needed some straightening which is no big deal. One arrow had a kinked tip and broke after two shots.
Even so, the kit gave me the infomation I needed to order the right shafts for my new Diamond "SS" with confidence.

It has been about 35 or 40 years since I shot a bow. Now a friend and I are making self bows as a hobby. This kit was a great help since there is so much involved with spine weights. today I just ordered a dozen arrows, points, armguard and 2 more B-50 stings for more long bows.

To get good arrow flight I needed to adjust the angle of the nocks. I would have rather the kit come without the nocks glued.

The test set was a great way to evaluate which spine would work well for my new longbow. The bowyer [...] suggested that I try a range of 45+ to find out what I and the bow liked. I found the 50-55 to work the best. Great way to test out a "vertical" set of spines without breaking the bank. Now that I am dialed in, I'll pass the set on to the club so others can "test drive" the different weights.
