Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have tipped these shafts with target points, broadheads and hand knapped obsidian points. They fly as straight as I can shoot and penetrate well. They are as good as wood can get.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Not too much you can say about Port Orford cedar that hasn't already been said!! You just won't find better quality and consistency anywhere!! The spine is accurate...they are straight or will straighten easliy...and there's nothing like the aroma of the cedar as you craft it into an arrow.
I've shot 'em all....aluminum, carbon, even fiberglass (I am an old guy you know!) but it's just hard to beat a quality wood arrow for straight shooting, forgiveness and penetration. And besides that...I just like the way it makes me feel to shoot something that God created and I made!! As usual, 3 Rivers is in a league by themselves....thanks for making things so easy!!

Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
The cedar shafts that I ordered are great as allways with you guys. Shuan told me the right way to make an arrow with the grain and is allways very helpful.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Used this batch of shafts for primitive arrows with stone tips for this up-comming hunting season.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I created 3 nice sets of arrows (3 arrows in each set) in a few days after receiving the shafts (and additional arrow-making supplies) from 3Rivers. They all fly beautifully!
A couple of the shafts needed some minor hand-straightening, but the majority were perfectly straight. And, they all smelled great!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have used these shafts for target and hunting, when finished they stay straigt and fly very well.I have taken deer and small game with them consistently
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I've been shooting these shaft for about 4 years now. The last batch I've received have some chips along the grain of the shaft. I'm going to write it off as a few bad shafts as I've never had any quality issues with 3 rivers before.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
A couple of arrows had a little bend to them toward the end, but nothing that could'nt be straighend by hand, no heat was required. Exellent finish- will buy again.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I use the Port Orford Cedar shafts as wooden shafts are an equipment requirement in the SCA. These shafts are very durable and when not lost (grin) last a very long time in normal use. They are not prone to splitting or cracking from temperature changes.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
very pleased
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
A few of the shafts are not straight and and are very hard to straighten even with heat.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I use these to make self arrows for primative arrows.

I decided to make my own arrows, and I am glad that I chose to use the Port Orford Cedar.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Hardly had to straighten. All were within 5 grains.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I am very pleased with my cedar shafts. They all spined out just the way I ordered them.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have never gotten a cedar shaft from 3Rivers that I would not feel good about putting a broadhead on. No straightening required. After years of searching, I have found my wood shaft supplier.
Every order of cedar shafts has been perfect. No need for straightening. I would be confident putting a broadhead on any shaft from 3Rivers.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I really liked that the shafts were burnished, because I hand rub Tung Oil on my shafts. By burnishing the shafts the finish comes out nice.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Your shaft quality has been very good since I started buying them from your company, and every time I order more they seem to increase in quality! Thank you for keeping such high standards!!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
These shafts are consistently spined as labeled and are straight and easy to finish and shoot well always.
All shipments are fast and arrive undamaged and as advertised.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Not being that familiar with wooden shafts, they were lighter than expected.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Great Shafts. Straight and amazing price.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Been worked over a couple times, but not here. Shafts were great out of the box. I highly recommend buying from 3Rivers if you want to make your own arrows.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
The master who is teaching us said these are some of the best he has seen - thanks!
Fast service and delivery, even for ground.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I kept hearing how you cannot get quality POC shafts any more.... so I was really impressed with the 11/32" 50/55# cedar shafts I ordered and received. They all straightened up great and were very high quality.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I am very happy with this product. The shafts were straight and true. When they arrived some of the shafts had some sap on them (they came with a notice of this) that I easily cleaned off with acetone. I am not complaining, just spreading awareness so that you have some acetone around before you seal your shafts!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Run of the mill, standard shafts.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Good shafts I rarely get a bad one. They definitely are a natural product so a little care is needed to make them fly great. Compared to some other companies they are spot on.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
In searching around, it's nice to get shafts that are not warped or curved. Once finished I've had no problems with them going where I point them.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I shoot a lot of archery and the Port Orford Cedar shafts have held up great!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I & our group have used literally HUNDREDS of these shafts for practice and in stiff competition. We know of many others & groups that have done the same. Used for Traditional & Re-enactment shooting they have withstood years of shooting. Bows have wore out before the arrows have! We stain & build our own arrows with all the products coming from 3RiversArchery.com! Our shoots range from as little as 10 yards to over 125 yards! While the spine weights are accurate, the actual weight of the shafts have been such that 'loading the tip' or using different weight field points has been required to match arrows. Don't get me wrong, they are not 'wildly' off in weight, but do require some compensation for how I was taught to construct arrows. I purchase 2-doz & pick the closest dozen in weight to start. After building I generally wind up with a dozen arrows within a couple of 10ths of grains of each other, and have gone on to win competitions! I rely on consistency in products when ordering while requiring the items to have longevity & be able to withstand abuse. I have never been disappointed in the Port Orford Shafts or any other product from 3RiversArchery.com & HIGHLY recommend them to everyone!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I hunt with my longbows and selfbows hundreds of days a year. I have found the Port Orford cedar shafting from three rivers to be the most reliable and consistent shafting on the market, bar none. I have taken elk, mule deer, bear, turkey, whitetail waterfowl upland birds and small game with these shafts. as long as you carry them I will use them. Mike H... Outdoor writer and primitive archer.

Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I make arrows for others and my standards are to keep arrow shaft weight within 5 gr of each other. I found with only two dozen to start with, I had sufficient shafts to meet this requirement with a spare or two. The consistency matters and I have been very pleased with the results. These are the only arrow shafts I buy.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
All 12 arrows were straight and had the same color (I've had others where the wood is different shades even though it's the same type). I will continue to purchase these arrows for a long time.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I use these shafts for making primitive style arrows. The grain is easy to read, with a light sanding, for cutting self nocks. Straighten easily and stay straight under normal shooting conditions. Quite durable unless shooting at large rocks. All the shafts I have ordered have been within the spine group specified.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have been very pleased with all of the cedar shafts from 3Rivers
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
We like the shafts because they gives us the opportunity to personalize them how we want.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
HUNTING AND TARGET PRACTICE.
SPEEDY DELIVERY.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I stained 3 doz. of these shafts with 3 different stains. Absolutely beautiful..especially when used with the Gasket Lacquer system. Also: They were spined accurately.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Straight? Oh yes. Most of the shafts I've ordered have been so straight that they've needed little or no manual straightening before I could start turning them into arrows. Narrow? Of a perfectly uniform width as well. Tapering, nocking and tipping these shafts is a pleasure.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have been shooting cedar arrows for years; the last batch I got from 3Rivers was the straightest, most consistent that I have seen in a long time. Has 3Rivers found a new distributor for POC? These are really nice shafts.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I like these shafts because they allow me to make some expedient arrows with a known spine so I can compare homemade shafts to them and have something to shoot in the mean time.
Very quick delivery in a nice box I am currently using to hold all my shafts as I work on them.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I would buy this product again but they are a bit brittle when hafting your own arrowheads into the shafts.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Great as always.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
They seemed to be spined pretty close and well selected.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
These have less than the usual imperfections, straightness can be achieved by the hand method. This is a good buy!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
This is the only place I have bought cedar from, so it's hard to compare. All an all I was happy with the product.
Thanks for the fast shipping.

Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I shoot a 5/16" shaft 40-45lb spine w/great results. Over the years I've built many many dozens of arrows using these shafts and to quote an old saying "If it's not broke don't fix it."
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Shafts were straight, grain was very good, and they made some fine arrows!
Great service, fast and complete.

3R sells for less than I can buy direct from Rose City!!!!!!!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
These shafts proved to be of good quality with little straightening needed. Would like to have the sap wiped off at the factory prior to shipment however.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
These shafts are still on my fletching jig, but they are all as straight as I could hope for with wood shafts.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Shafts are good. Love the smell of Cedar. Had to hand straighten them a bit but expected. Shafts are good quality, smooth and ready to make into arrows. Man I love the smell of Cedar. Got two dozen shafts last order. Already shooting the first dozen. Fly great too. Can't wait to get the second dozen done to see how they fly. Did I mention, I love the smell of Cedar? LOL.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
The shafts are great and easy to work with.
The delivery was excellent and fast, and it arrived in great condition. I will definetly order from 3Rivers Archery again.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I do a lot of outdoor shooting, and I've skipped these shafts off rocks, stumps, and who knows what else. They've always held up to the abuse and stayed usable.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I shoot Minor League Traditional Competition at pre 1840 rendezvous and most feel, for the money, Port Orfort Cedar shafts have been and still are the most reliable.

Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Great Shafts. Nice and Straight. They take stain well.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have built arrows for several years and have experimented with various shafting materials. In my opinion, port orford cedar is the best wood shafting material out there. I point, fletch and nock then rub down with light bees wax coat. No warping due to humidity changes.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
The quality was kind of so-so. One shaft actually had a large hole in it, and several had some smoothness issues. They weren't as straight, or as easy to straighten as I'm used to for Port Orford, but all in all, they made a serviceable hunting and target shaft.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Needed very little tweaking, Great out of the box.

Best wood arrow shafts that I have seen.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Good stuff for reasonable price.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I use these shafts for hunting with the products from 3Rivers. Finishing these shafts is easy.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have used these shafts before and they give me very consistent and durable performance. I have not broken one yet and have been able to straighten one or two that were bent due to kids removing them from the target improperly.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
A good overall shaft for building your own arrows. They are not the lightest, ever found but are a reasonable weight.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have used these shafts for many years, and have found the quality is consistantly excellent.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
My kids make these to enter in the fair and they use them in competition. They are straight and easy to use.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have been using Port Orford Cedar shafting for nearly 20 years and have found it to be great for my reenactments in the SCA.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
The batch that I rec,d was very crooked and little grainy, hard to straighten.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
The last few batches I've ordered needed very little straightening and no sanding at all. I still miss chundoo, though.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Work well for my purposes which is mediveal historical recreations and traditional target archery. The price is better than most other sources.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Straight, accurate, to the point. I love them.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I am an advid 3D shooter, enjoy the competition, and also enjoy every facet of traditional archery. 3Rivers cedar arrows needs very little work, to make them good shooters. After time the arrows take their toll: lose their spine, start to splinter, time to make new arrows. Wood bows, wood arrows, is a very traditional concept to me....
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I wrote a review awhile back when the batch needed so much straightening bought a straightener. (which worked well) This batch required very little work and fly great.

Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Just started making my own arrows. These wooden arrows are great for the beginner and all it requires is a little straightening. (learn to do it by hand or buy an arrow straightener, depends on preference.)
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I would like to buy raw shafts already stained.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
55-60# shafts actually ran 53-58#. One shaft unusable due to natural weakness in wood. However nothing flies better than cedar.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
First of all I love the smell of cedar and most importantly they fly very well.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
My wood of choice,, I have tried others, always go back to these.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
These are very good shafts, straight.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I've never shot any other arrows but cedar, and may never shoot anything else because they stay very straight and you can straighten them if you have any bends in the shafts.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Fast, great shipping.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Very little straighting needed.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
These shafts require very litle straightening to be ready for the field. They stain easily and prove very durable.

Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I haven't made the shafts into arrows yet, but all looks good.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
It's been awhile since I had to make new arrows. As I recollect I never had to straighten port orford cedar so much. In fact the shafting I received needed so much straightening that I ordered a hook straightener with my next order. On the plus side the hook straightener did the trick. I don't know if these were typical or just a bad batch. I hope they are not indicative of the quality now available.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Awesome straight shafts. Less than a handful that were not straight and only a couple that couldn't be straightned to usable accuracy.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
This is what I use to make most of my arrows and it works very well. It finishes very nicely.
The match in spine is usually pretty good, but the match in weight can be pretty bad (70+ grains). You can work it to get the weight within a decent tolerance, but getting those matched already would be a definite plus. It's actually something I'd be willing to pay a little extra for.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Three rivers has been a great source of traditional archery equipment when local shops do not carry what I am looking for!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
They were great at the price, but I have broken two by just shooting them at targets. And I have to straighten them by hand every once in awhile, but other than that they are everything I want in a wooden arrow shaft. Affordable, dependable and great for the money.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have been using these cedars for a long time, shoot nothing but.....
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Practice, hunting, competition.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Just fletched up a dozen over night and shot them this morning. Great shafts, the only reason that I said they break easily is that they are cedar.
I will definitely buy this product again.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
The shafts I received required very little straightening and very little sanding. I hand spined the shafts and they were all within the spine range I requested.
Delivery was surprisingly quick!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I am absolutely satisfied.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I make my own arrows and this wood stains nice with the greybark stain I got from 3Rivers. I can't really think about anything bad about the wood besides that pricing is crazy on cedar these days. If you want good quality cedar shafts look no further.
Everything was on time and well packaged.

The arrow shafts are a very good economical product; when properly prepared they make an arrow that is good for all aspects of archery. I personally use them for stump shooting, small game and they are in my quiver for deer season. With the price of supplies now days it’s great to have a low cost product that performs so well!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
These shafts are great. They arrived really straight. I had little work to do for straightening.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
The wood I go to time and time again.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
These are really nice shafts but the weight seems to be off as far as 70 grains on the past several dozen I have ordered. I wish that the dozen bundles were checked on a grain scale and matched to within 10 to 20 grains per bundle...
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Like Tred Barta I make my own Wooden Arrows. I bought 2 dozen for my grandsons This Christmas. I love the outstanding 3Rivers service.

Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I regularly search for the best prices on Port Orford shafts and always end up back at 3Rivers.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
These are great shafts. They are very smooth and pretty straight. The grain is excellent and the shafts straighten easily.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I love working with Port Orford Cedar. The shafts that I have used have been very straight. The only down fall is that you may have to lightly sand some of the shafts. Some have had a rough side to them. If not sanded that rough side really stands out once painted or stained.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I have used other woods, but this is the best; not much expensive, I work wonderfully with it
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
easy to work with, straightens easily, flys well
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I use these shafts for hunting small & big game, very true shooting and straight I have nothing bad to say about these shafts
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Awesome flight, but for hunting I prefer a heavier arrow. However they're easy to work with and a blast to shoot.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I just love the Port Orford Cedar. I make self knocked arrows.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Takes my custom stains well.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I loaned out some arrows five years ago. They were finally returned, fletchings missing, points dulled. Refurbished with new fletching and points they fly very well.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Target and hunting. I love to shoot these wood arrows. So quiet and smooth.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I`m very impressed with these shafts. Once they have been straightened and sealed, they stay straight for a long time.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
Cedar just seems more traditional to me!
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
They are the easy to straighten.
Comments about Port Orford Cedar:
I've probably made 300 arrows with 3Rivers port orford cedar shafts. They arrive straight and stay straight, easy to work with, but plenty strong. I sometimes use other woods, but this is widely considered the best for good reason.
