I make all of my own arrows from native plants and trees here in the Northwest. I started using the Bear Paw Taper Tool and have gotten excellent results from it. I gives me precise and consistent tapers on shafting material that is much harder than standard cedar shaftings. Great little tool!

cheap & easy to use. worked GREAT for making tapered tips to put the nock on, worked [...] for making tapered tip to put the glue on target tips on. ended up tapering the business end, then narrowing the shaft diameter with a bench grinder. on an unrelated note: STRONGLY recommend a bench grinder.on another unrelated note: strongly recommend getting rid of the profanity filter on product reviews. Note to 3rivers: some of us are regular guys, not employees of companies that make these products.

Either my shafts are not a true 5/16 or the cutter is undersized. It does cut quickly and burr free. But, for the price you can't complain.

Works plain and simple. Gives a good taper and is easy to use. May not be quite as nice as higher end taper tools. But at the price absolutely unbeatable. Great for somebody who is just a recreational archer, or just somebody on a budget.

A great compact tool with a nice price. My only complaint is the two openings are not labeled as to which is for the nock taper and which is for the point taper. I had to look closely at the angle of the blades to decipher which end was which, then I marked them myself.

This was the first time I've glued points on. I purchased a test kit (C-wood) and Ferr-L-Tite. It was pretty easy for me to figure out. I used the videos from the website, and they are extremely informative. Once I figure out what spine works best for me, I'll most likely start buying more arrow building tools. Next will probably be a fletching jig.

Great service! I've purchased from 3Rivers a couple/few times, I'll get to the comments on products as I use them. Tomorrow I'll be using the C-test (wood) kit for the first time. I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Oh yeah, everything has arrived as promised, except for the arrow test kit... but, there was very bad weather here for about two weeks. Yes, the test kit arrived completely intact.

This device is made for broken tips and shot nocks, it works great for people who do not make arrows for a living, but if you make your own arrows and some for friends, you can't go wrong with this pocket tool. Works good and I can't wear it out. I would recommend this to all archer's who fix their own arrows and work on others.

It works as advertised. The only problem I had was that the depth of the cutter didn't go as far as I would like. I felt it left a lot of tip left when I put them on. Other then that It cut fine and put a nice taper, just to shallow of a cut for my taste.

I picked this up as a beginner in arrow making. It is cheap but it works great. My future purchases will probably include the Tru-Center Taper but if you need something light to carry for emergencies or just don't want to spend a lot of money right now, this is the way to go.
