The Skookum Glove was designed at the request of bowhunters who have been shooting the Super Glove but switched to lighter draw weights on their longbows and recurve bows. Some felt the cordovan tipped Super Glove was a little too thick for a smooth release. The Skookum Glove uses MegaTuff, a super smooth calf hair-like synthetic material, on the finger tips. MegaTuff has good durability, is slick for smooth releases yet allows the bowhunter to "feel the string". Sizes are S, M, L and XL. Made in USA.
  • MegaTuff finger tips gives super smooth release
  • For medium and lighter weight bows
  • Made in the USA

    Comments about Skookum Shooting Glove:

I was having problems finding a finger glove with fingers small enough for my narrow fingers accomodating my liking for string feel. Most equipment is designed for men. I E-mailed this site after communicating with other sporting goods sites and Shawn Leins took the time to evaluate my fitting situation and examined each glove brand that would best fit my fingers. He suggested the Skookum glove in a small. It is perfect. A glove that fits around my fingers snugly without the left over material at finger tips to interfere with string release. Thank you for your personal consultation Shawn. You have won a loyal customer.

This is a nice made glove. It has good feel at the string but xlg is tight on my hands. Will wait to see if it will stretch a little.

    Great light glove
By Craig the YeomanVerified Purchaser from Valley Glen, CA on 9/25/2008

    Not Protective

    Comments about Skookum Shooting Glove:

The Skookum glove is well made, comfortable and the synthetic finger pads are fast and predictable for release. The glove allows great feel, but is not protective enough to keep my fingers from getting beat-up by prolonged field archery and target practice with my 60 lb. draw bow. I start shooting great and find my performance declining as my fingertips are slowly reduced to hamburger. I have been developing the callouses for weeks, but I think that I am back to a traditional Howard Hill style glove, which is crisp and precise and protective, but the lack of string feel with it is somewhat of a problem.

    Comments about Skookum Shooting Glove:

This is the first glove I've tried since using tabs. It's taking me a while to get used to the feel of it but once I do I'm sure having it always in place (and not worrying about losing an archery tab) will be worth the while, especially while hunting. The glove itself is great. Well constructed and the cordovan seems more durable than my fur tabs. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

    Comments about Skookum Shooting Glove:

The product description is right on. I shoot a lighter weight bow (35 lb) and the feel you get for the string is great. I get a very smooth release off the MegaTuff. The leather of the glove took very little shooting to work in. Overall I think it is a great shooting glove.
