Fred Bear introduced many innovations to the archery industry, but perhaps none was more ingenious or ground-breaking than his famous Takedown recurve bow. The classic design was years ahead of its time, and still to this day archers and bowhunters rave about its performance and versatility. Not only does this bow pack easy, but it shoots and feels like a dream. This legendary, but modern design is available in both A and B risers, giving you plenty of versatility in bow length. This is the same bow Fred Bear hunted with almost exclusively right up until his last hunt. If you are looking for solid performance and easy to pack for travel but not looking to pay custom bow prices, then the Bear Takedown recurve is the bow for you.Riser : Radiused, cut-on center shelf for instinctive shooting and easier arrow tuning. Two construction options. 3-piece Bubinga with accent stripe, or a 3-piece construction of black Dymondwood® with red accent stripe. Arrow rest and plate included. Inlaid Bear medallion and compass. Tapped with Bear 1/4" x 20 quiver inserts. Limbs : Bubinga or Fascor surrounded by black fiberglass. Reinforced bow tips allow the use of today's modern bow strings. No-tools takedown latch limb system.String : Fast Flight® Flemish twist bow string. Manufacturer recommended brace height: A handle 7¾" - 8¾", B handle 7" - 8". Bow stringer not included. A bow stringer is recommended for stringing any recurve bow or longbow. Stringing a bow without a bow stringer, or stringing it backwards will void a bow's warranty. Click here to see our Bow Stringers. It is recommended to unstring your bow if you do not plan to be shooting more than week. Store your bow on its side, or hanging vertically from a peg. Never rest the bow on the lower tip for extended periods of time.
