		The original Assegai was invented by the legendary Zulu King, Shaka in the early 1800s. Its long, broad blade and short handle were ideal for thrusting and revolutionized tribal warfare in southern Africa. This Assegai replica has all the features that made the original so deadly. Using cold forging technology, Cold Steel makes high performance thrusting and throwing spears for the modern hunter or reenactor. All come with premium American Ash shafts and SK-5 medium carbon steel heads. Like traditional spearheads, they are heat treated and then drawn to a tough spring temper. The concept is that the spear head should flex or bend under impact stresses rather than break or shatter.
